COUNCILLORS TO CONTINUE SERVING RESIDENTS FROM HOME

April 7, 2020 4:01 PM

/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/D63pnmPX4AEI2d5-300x225.jpgLib Dem councillors on Bromsgrove District Council have pledged to continue working hard to support residents despite the coronavirus crisis.

The group will be working from home and have suspended face-to-face surgeries, instead opting to conduct surgeries over the phone for the time being.

Rob Hunter, leader of Bromsgrove Lib Dems and councillor for Norton, said "these are troubling times for all of us but we can stay safe and well if we work together and adhere to the Government's advice to stay home."

"Bromsgrove Lib Dems will continue to serve residents throughout this crisis and can be contacted on social media, by phone and by email."

Councillor Hunter has cancelled his regular surgeries at Lickey End Methodist Church until further notice and Bromsgrove Central Councillor Siobhan Hughes has also postponed her regular surgeries at Bromsgrove Library.

Janet King, Lib Dem Councillor for Lickey Hills has suspended her next residents' surgery which was due to be held on 16th May. Councillor King said "due to the coronavirus I have postponed this surgery, however, I will continue to serve the residents of Lickey Hills ward and urge all residents who have concerns or queries to get in touch via phone or email."

Bromsgrove Lib Dems also wish to pay thanks to those working in the NHS and blue light services for keeping our communities safe in these concerning times, along with the countless volunteer groups that have been established in recent weeks to support one another. The Lib Dems will continue to support measures of social distancing and self-isolation, but will hold the Government to account over the lack of supply of ventilators and other essential equipment for the NHS.

Anyone with any concerns at this difficult time is urged to get in touch.
